Beans Note Terms of Service

This is an English translation of the Japanese Beans Note Terms of Service (https://beansnote.com/terms/). In case of any discrepancy, the Japanese version prevails.

These terms set out the conditions for using Beans Note (the "App") provided by South Side Labs (the "Operator"). By using the App, you agree to these terms. The App is intended for people aged 18 and over.

Article 1 What the App does

The App provides guidance for brewing coffee; records of recipes, beans, equipment and brews; and AI suggestions and improvements of recipes.

Article 2 About AI suggestions

  1. AI suggestions are reference information created from the conditions and records you enter. Taste preferences differ from person to person, and brewing as suggested does not guarantee a taste you like.
  2. AI suggestions may contain errors. If the numbers (water temperature, water amount, coffee dose, etc.) do not seem to suit your equipment or situation, use them at your own discretion.
  3. AI consultation has a limit on the number of uses per day. The Operator may change the limit and the time at which it resets.
  4. AI consultation may be unavailable depending on external AI services or network conditions.

Article 3 Safety

The App guides tasks that use boiling water. Take sufficient care to avoid burns, damage to equipment, fire, etc., and follow the instructions for the equipment you use. The App's guidance and AI suggestions never take precedence over your equipment's instructions or safety precautions.

Article 4 Your data

  1. Recipes, beans, equipment and brew records are stored on your device. They may be lost through device failure or loss, deletion of the App, etc., so make backups as needed.
  2. The recipes and records you create belong to you.
  3. Information is handled in accordance with the separately established Privacy Policy (https://beansnote.com/en/privacy/).

Article 5 Prohibited acts

You must not do the following.

  1. Connect to the AI server without going through the App, or connect in a way different from normal use in order to avoid the limit on the number of uses
  2. Interfere with the AI server or with other users' use
  3. Disassemble or modify the App and distribute it without the Operator's permission
  4. Act in violation of laws or public order and morals

Article 6 Changes to or suspension of the service

The Operator may add or change features, and may temporarily suspend or end the provision of AI consultation. Important changes will be announced in the App.

Article 7 Disclaimer

  1. The Operator does not guarantee that the App will always be available, that it is free of bugs, or that AI suggestions are accurate.
  2. The Operator is liable for damage caused to you by the Operator's intent or gross negligence. For damage caused to you by the Operator's minor negligence, the Operator is liable only for damage that directly and ordinarily arises for you, up to a maximum of 10,000 yen.

Article 8 Changes to these terms

The Operator may change these terms. When it does, it will announce the details and timing of the change in the App or on this page.

Article 9 Governing law and court

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Osaka District Court or the Osaka Summary Court shall have exclusive agreed jurisdiction as the court of first instance for any dispute relating to the App.
